Is it considered impolite or rude or inconvenient for RM and the vets?Is it
bad for the horse?
As a ride manager (ok, so I only do CTR's and R&T's now) it is inconvenient
to have riders come in the am of the ride, but as long as I know you are
coming and can have your paperwork done in advance, it isn't too bad. If you
live very close to a ride and can go the night before to vet in, then go
back home, that's even better. Less line for the vet in the am. I think
there may be a rule about IAHA rides having to be stabled the same, though.
If you live close, and the horse isn't used to camping, staying at home is
probably less stressful, but check with ride management to make sure there
isn't going to be a big bunch of horses to check in that am.
I've always felt rushed when I've had to haul in the day of a ride, myself.
Besides, how can you enjoy the campfire if you aren't there!?
