There was a notice in the local paper yesterday
recommending that all horses be up on their vaccinations for "sleeping sickness"
(in Arizona).
Is this known by another name? How is it
transmitted (horse to horse, mosquito, or ?). They said the symptoms were
neurological and death rate is 20%-50%. Are they talking about Western
Encephalitis?
I am trying to get ahold of my vet and the state
vet to find out where the outbreaks have been, but any info you can give me is
appreciated!
