Re: [RC] Cuddles - Lisa Redmond
Mooooooooo! LOL
Shows just how much has changed with intensive breeding programs in 20
years, doesn't it? I'm still amazed that there are cows consistently
producing 125-130 lbs of milk a day during peak lactation. Mind-boggling.
I have seen another Hereford bull like that--it was bred by Randy Owens of
the group Alabama, and donated to Clemson University while I was in grad
school. He loved attention, and one of his favorite games was to follow me
up and down the fence line when I was moving horses back and forth between
my work area and their pastures. He'd bounce around on his feet like a
lamb--funny enough in an adult sheep, absolutely hysterical in a full-grown
bull....but, I think he was hand-raised, or at least spoiled rotten as a
calf. Most bulls grow out of that and into their testosterone, but
Herefords for some reason occasionally don't.
I adore horses with puppydog temperaments....I think it's important to have
one that has a sense of fun about being involved in sport horse events.
Part of that is related to the fact that in endurance, and in other types of
horse stuff we like to do we spend copious amounts of time with the rascals.
Leave the moody animals to the racing ppl. I want one that's always in a
Hi! I'm ready to go! mood. The kind that gives you that wide-eyed innocent
look while plotting to untie your sneakers or steal whatever's sticking out
or your back pocket at the next possible moment.
