[RC] Old Macs boots --a godsend - Ridecamp Guest

As a result of the many emails requesting info and asking --Are Old Macs suitable for endurance? I hope the following will help .The answer is definitely. A horse wearing Old Macs for endurance serves exactly the same purpose as a human athlete wearing the best running shoes for a marathon which is to reduce concussion . The most important features of this product when used for endurance are 1) It is impossible for them to come off so no more lost shoes 2) the whole hoof is protected from injury which means no more vetting out because of stone bruising and 3) comfort and stability for the horse.
The most important caution if using these boots for endurance is making sure the correct size is used and most importantly that the boots are broken in sufficiently before excessive riding is done because if not ,a new stiff boot can chafe. Old Macs should be treated the same as a new pair of leather boots. When the boots are sufficiently broken in, the leather in the heel and collar will become soft and mould to the shape of the hoof. I hope this has answered some of your queries. Please direct all future USA inquiries to Oldmacsusa.com
