You know, that's a fine idea.  I'm sure the LD riders
in my area would have my head.  I'm seeing more and
more riders staying in the LD ranks (that's fine with
me...just an observation) so we wouldn't be pushing
any new comers out.  

Since several have brought up the price of showing
(not a very good comparision since it's a totally
different sport from endurance), entry fee is the same
whether you're showing Open or Novice.  Why not charge
LD and 50's the same?  

I think it'd be better received if all the RM would do
this...something I'll bring up.

Not this cowgirl!  I still think $3/mile is too high
(especially in comparison with other endurance ride
entry fees) but I don't think the RM in question is
making a profit either.  Power to him/her!  I wish the
ride all my best.
