Ridecamp: [RC] [RC] truck tents

Karla,

I like mine so much that when we bought the larger truck I ordered the new
tent to go with it. I like tent camping -- don't have to have an alarm since
the horses all wake me the first time someone gets up to feed -- but I hate
being on the ground.

An air mattress fits nicely in there too. Cabelas is now selling a model
that has a vestibule so you have a place to keep some things out of the
weather which is still a problem for me -- if it rains, it's dry inside the
tent, but the tailgate still gets wet and that's no fun.

Just don't be tempted to cut the bottom out of it. (winks to April!!)

Does anyone use truck tents and are they as good as they look? I thought it
might be a good thing to buy for rides cause you are above ground with no
threat of loose horses running over your tent at night. Are they easy to set
up and has anyone had problems or success with them?
