I use a Pro Choice girth on my field hunter. We've
never had a wreck as your friend but we have done just
about everything else.
Survival instincts born over the past bazillion years
make a horse want to stay up on all 4's instead of
tumbeling head-over-heals. My goofey field hunter
travels at a HIGH rate of speed with his head very
low. Why he doesn't flip is WAY beyond me.
Hopefully, your Pony won't be flipping...but never say
never. It only takes once.
Will you still have a good fit if you use a fleece
cover? The oils in your horses' skin should prevent
any tradgic pull like your friend had. Sounds like a
freak accident to me.
Still...do what allows you to sleep at night.
That's just .02 from me. Please, keep the change.
Before long, RC will be owing me! HA!!
