Re: [RC] LD rides - Lynne Glazer

There is no way the vets can judge all of the LD horses for BC.
They have enough to do trying to vet all the horses in the ride and
placing the top 10. This is endurance. If you want all LD horses
judged against each other do competive trail or NATRAC. I do think
that it is important to keep rider/horse milage points because
that's what counts in the long run.
Depends on your area. We've successfully done it on up to 75 riders
at a time, with the upper half of the BC worksheet actually
pre-printed on the backside of the vet cards. The riders get their
cards back after the scores are tallied.
True, we choose to hire more vets than other rides in the area, so we
can do that. It's important to us to give the LD riders something to
strive for besides their personal goals with their horse, and we
choose to reward high vet scores to 5 places as well as honorable
mentions.
We're trying to be inclusive here--rather than exclusive, like your
statement suggests.
