I hate mine.
I actually have two... The original version used plastic buckles (that
broke). The newest one I have (2 yrs old now) has metal hardware.
I have only ever been able to use it on one horse (others wouldn't tolerate
the pressure around their legs).
For me, the thing didn't in any way make mounting from the ground any
"easier". Was just as hard to mount using the bareback buddy as mounting to
"regular" saddle. The only thing I found the thing useful for was bareback
riding on the one horse who would let me use it.

Mine hasn't arrived yet, but for those of you who just can't get up in the
saddle if you wear a loose girth, this thing looks to die-for! I get up on
a mounting block but was wondering how the heck I was gonna get on out on
the trail. My saddle is a Thoroughgood Equigel and very squishy and I don't
like to ride with a tight girth. I hope it comes today. Can't wait to try
it!
