Hey, I'm with you! The Good Lord gave the
horse 4 legs and only gave me 2, and there's a lesson in that somewhere. I
only get off for things like vet checks, gates that have to be opened, that sort
of thing. Horse is far more handicapped with me on the ground than he is
with me on his back, quite frankly. But I still wear running shoes because
they are comfortable and they breathe, plus it can get wet around water tanks,
etc.--the sorts of places that I AM apt to get off--and the running shoes handle
the moisture well and dry out quickly.

Get off? Oh man ... all you guys who answered my
survey talking about running along side,in front of and behind your horses are
scarin' me man! I remember my dad used to tail a lot going uphill but this
running stuff ... Exercise is a 4-letter word in my vocabulary. I think I'll
stay in the back of the pack ...
