    Hi all - in the spirit of breed diversity, I offer the following --  besides
two Arabs, I have completed the Tevis on a Mustang, a Standardbred, and four
times on a Saddlebred.  My husband finished Tevis six of his 10 times on an
Appaloosa, three of which were top 10, and won the Haggin Cup (Best
Condition) one year.  One year he failed to finish on the Appie because he
stopped to aid a rider with a very sick horse and spent seven hours in El
Dorado Canyon.

Two mules have won the Haggin Cup, and one TB/Quarter cross.  Many breeds
beside Arabs participate in the Tevis, and do so successfully.

The horse with most Tevis completions (13) is a Quarter Horse!
