Re: [RC] Survey on best footwear for endurance - DESERTRYDR1
I have ridden in Ariats for about 6 years. They don't hold up for more than
about 1-2 years, but I'm very hard on footwear. They are comfortable the
first time I put them on, and I can walk or ride in them, trot outs are no
problem. I have also ridden in New Balance and Saucony running shoes (I have
EasyRide stirrups with cages). I have a neuroma in one foot, so I have to be
very careful of fit or my foot burns and goes numb and all sorts of painful
things. Most important thing about shoes/boots is that they FIT. I would
have a hard time buying shoes out of a catalog because I can't try them on
first. I usually spend about a half hour or better wearing the shoes in the
store before I will consider buying them, and won't buy a pair unless they
can be returned (in new condition) if they bother my foot. Haven't had any
problems with the Ariats. jeri
