Naw, not all of us. I've been breeding, raising and riding Arabs for 30 years, and I still appreciate good Standardbreds--in fact, good horses of ANY breed. And I've seen horses of a great many breeds excel in this sport. It's a matter of playing the odds. And to be honest, with the sad modern trends in Arab breeding, one has to watch WHICH Arabs one gets for this sport as well. The Standardbred, as I previously stated, is the second most likely breed to give you the sort of metabolism you want for this sport, and some of the gaited breeds (while generally not as fast as either the Arabs or the Standardbreds) likewise have a tendency to have some decent metabolic parameters.
