I'm sorry you were appalled, but if you are doing the 50 mile ride on
a 50/100 and the vet check gets backed up, you may be asked to wait
until the 100's get checked. Ideally, this should not have to happen,
but if a vet check gets backed up to where riders are in jeopardy of
missing their out times, IMO those going the longest distance should
get priority. They go through the greatest number of vet checks. The
exception would be the rare case where a rider going the longer
distance has already finished and the rider in the shorter distance
who is ahead of him in line is returning to the trail. Then the
returning rider should not get bumped.
