Dolores,
We have a folding tack compartment in the rear of our
slant load. There are times when a larger rear stall
is very nice to have, but I can't imagine ever folding
it down to resue a horse who had wedged himself as he
tried to turn around. We carry so much "stuff" in the
fold down tack area that we'd never have time to
unload it prior to folding it down.
To avoid a situation like you describe where the horse
wedged himself when loading by turning around, you can
load a horse (by yourself) with a lounge line to guide
their head. Thread the line thru the window to the
step into the trailer. Have the end in your hand and
snap the other end to the halter. Ask the horse to
load as always, but you can guide the direction of his
head with the line while staying in the rear of the
trailer.
Good luck in your trailer hunt!
