    [RC] Green Horses/Sour Grapes - Stephanie_D_Adair

Went to Old Glory this weekend, my 1st ride in over 10 years. Had a
wonderful time! Did the 25 miles, and came in with very little time to
spare. So what if I was about last.....I finished! I did it! I love
endurance. I never witnessed anyone not using common sense, which is
basically what endurance riding is! I don't want overbearing rules and
*classes*, that's why I do this! Me, my horse, OUR fears, the heat, the
    horseflies, what a blast!

I went to this ride, ALONE. All by myself. Drove 3 hours Friday, set up
camp, rode 30 miles Saturday (the 5 extra miles were definitely not
intentional), broke up camp and drove home the same day. What an
accomplishment. I'm proud of myself! I'm even more proud that in that
short period of time, I came away with a handful of friends! I can't wait
to see these folks again on the next ride. A GREAT bunch of people.

So thank you all for putting on a great ride, and all those wonderful
riders out there. Thank you for your helpful advice, caring, and most
    especially, your friendship!

It's Tuesday, and I could STILL use that epidural!

    >Just for the record. If there are any new subscribers out there
    >today...don't judge ridecamp or endurance riders on what you've read in
    >the last 48 hours. Sometimes I read these posts and think...have I ever
    >been to one of these rides? Where are all the rude riders I hear
    >about...I have people falling all over themselves to be helpful and
    >polite. Where are all the horrible riders? I see worse at horse shows.
    >Sure we're not perfect by any means, but I don't know any other group
    >more dedicated to learning and trying to do their best for their horses
    >and kind to each other.
