I agree w/Deanna. My 1/2 arab 1/2 saddlebred has a low resting pulse and
recoveries quickly, but "the internal hamster" runs quick in him & the
slightest thing sets him off & wham he'll jump 5-6 beats......if only
seeing another horse walk by. I think in time I've seen it get better & I
must also suspect its the saddlebred & not the arab that does it!
Patience w/the horse over a long long time will probably see an
improvement.
