[RC] soucal auction prices - Ridecamp Guest

The auction was attended by about 30-40 people, of which there were 25 registered to bid. There were probably only about 10 people that actually bid.
Linda Leonard (sp?) had 21 horses there. The court allowed her to keep 2.
There were a few dramatic moments in the barn aisle before the auction. The local sheriff were called.
The "manager" of the barn, Rafael Salazar, did buy around 10 of the horses. We were all wondering what the heck he was up to. He most likely would not have to fork out any cash. Just write off the purchase price against the boarding debt owed. Someone asked him what he was up to. He supposedly said that he was going to send the horses to Murrieta. After the paperwork was all settled, he would re-sell the horses. Hopefully there is no intent to try to make some cash through the local "killers"... especially as Rafael bid $1000 or more for some horses.
Anyway, here is the list of horses, their registration numbers and the prices they sold for:
Fleet Winds Annie, #?, $1000
Pixsea Dream, 442372, $?

The owner kept, Excellent Sea, 473902 and RVA Hal Osuzanna, 362681. Excellent Sea was a short, grey (pure white), stallion. He was beautiful and very, very sweet. You would not know he was a stallion. I wanted to buy him for my daughter. Alas, I did not have a chance to bid on him.
Most of the horses were, in my opinion, too old for endurance. Some, I thought, had short necks and or were on the small side.
Oh well, it was kinda fun to see what was going on.
Oh, there were a lot of annoying, barking dogs tied up in box stalls, cats/kittens in another... and it was rumored the owner was living there. The stalls were all pad locked. The owner was there but was not being helpful in identifying the horses. She did go around saying, loudly, that they had all the wrong horses. Yeah right! The Sheriff did pull her aside and have words with her. Another guy, the trustee of the trust involved, went around pulling the names of the horses off the stall doors and claiming the auction was illegal. Well, they surely didn't advertise it widely.... and come on... Tuesday at 5pm????? I think perhaps that was so Mr. Salazar wouldn't have much competion. This may also explain why he never did fax me the horses' names for sale.
