  I looked up thermometers in a variety of on-line horse-
catalogs.  One I saw listed is identical to what my drug-store 
sells, so I got one at the drug-store.  It is NOT anal (thin 
rather than round bulb), but neither was the one in the 
catalog.  It is electrontic, unbreakable (tip is flexible) and 
beeps when temp is reached.  I have not been able to use it yet 
because idiot-boy would NOT stand still and I had noone helping.
My fear was he would pull away from me, clamp his tail down, 
and drive the full length of the thermoteter ... well, you get 
the picture.  So I am holding off until I have an assitant.
