Well, horses in the wild don't eat most of the stuff we give them <grin> but
I understand your point.
Interestingly, I have had LESS colic trouble since I started adding the
yoghurt than before. Toc used to colic every Spring / Autumn, and if he had
had penicillin. Not now that he's on the yoghurt (which has, if the label
is to be believed) live cultures.
If it makes you feel better, I'll soon be milking my goats, and then he'll
have goats milk yoghurt, which is lactose-free.
