Hi, Liz,
According to the Travelers Rest catalog circa 1946, *Czubuthan is listed
as "a horse of classic Arab type and good size, he is of well balanced
conformation and characterized by strong clean bone and good muscular
development. A breeder of thoroughbreds with wide experience throughout
the country, periodically visited Czubuthan at Travelers Rest because, as
he said, "he has the finest set of legs I have ever laid my eyes upon."
*Ba-Ida, "At the mile and a furlong, at which *Ba-ida was never
defeated, she was one of the five fastest Arab mare of record in Polish
racing history. She stood 14'3 1/2" hands. "*Ba-ida is a beautifully
balanced mare of great quality and substance, and a proven producer of
first class foals." Quotes from General Dickenson, who was one awesome
horseman. Even Bazy Tankersley bought horses from him, as well as many,
many others. Hoped you liked the history lesson. Is it any wonder to
any one why old Wendell Robie himself selected a horse from Travelers
Rest??
