Go down to Radio Shack and pick up a "pen" soldering iron. It looks
kinda like a large pencil with a cord attached to the handle. The tip
is sharp, then quickly tapers to about the size of a 16 penny nail.
Punch the holes with a sharp leather punch. It's tough stuff...punch
from once side, flip the punch over and punch from the other side.
Rotate the punch as you apply pressure. After you get the plug out, use
the soldering iron to seal and smooth the edges. This also works on
nylon. You can smooth the edges of a rough nylon hole with it as well.
Be sure to preheat the iron first.
