RE: help with biothane
Vicki,
I tried many things - drill bits (yucky mess, but works better for the
non-beta biothane), a leather punch (my palms bruised and I hadn't gotten
anywhere) and a hammer and punch set. That was a fair amount of work too
and left a mess with the nylon. Then I had to use a soldering iron or wood
burner tip to clean it up.
Finally what I did was put the holder for the punch set in a drill press.
Works great and doesn't leave all the nylon loose inside. Biothane is tough
stuff and will wear down the punches over time, but they make very nice
holes for quite a while.
Let me know if you need some advice on where to buy a set.
Marlene

what is the best way to add holes to biothane stirrup leathers? I think I
remember mention of using a soldering (sp?)
iron.
TIA
