My daughter's horse almost *never* takes a drink until the 25 mile mark.
He's got a couple thousand miles and he's 19 so I don't think he's going
to do anything different.  We electrolyte him just like the others...the
night before, after the morning feeding, and approximately every 12 miles
or each hour.  By the way, he's won BC at 2 of his last three 50's. :-)
