Well you clearly didn't read the whole post which goes to say "Arena work is
very good for a lot of things, but I would be suspect that basic conditions is
not one. "
The question posed (or at least the version I read during the thread ) was
"could you get a horse in shape for an endurance ride using primarly arena
work." Many things you can and my horse does basic dressage training an hour or
so a week to deal with those issues as I think probably everybody's horse could
benefit from such training, but when the rubber hits the road and all the other
things are taken care of if the cardivascular is not there you aren't going to
make it. It's sort of like Michael Johnson spending all his time in the weight
room and on the ballet floor to train for the Olympics. Won't work.
