April, The easiest way to tell an Indian-made from an Aussie-made saddle is by the sniff test. Indian leather smells bad. I don't know if the smell ever goes away. Some saddles are made in India with imported leather, however, which shouldn't have the smell. On Australian saddles I've seen, there is usually a stamped-in logo or name on the underflap, and/or a brass plate somewhere on the saddle. Does your saddle have such an I.D.?
