Thought I would get two birds with one stone. Maybe that should be horses.
As for mares in competition, I have really enjoyed my three mare that I have
competed on. They can be head strong, self assured, but know what they
want. I have also had a gelding that I have really enjoyed also. If you take
a look at the most recent issue of Endurance World magazine, in at least
three article that I read Mares were at the top of pack in competitions,
and well liked. It does not seem that I see as much controversy about mare
vs. gelding in other countries that I have read about. Maybe just have not
heard it and it is still prevalent, don't know for sure.
Next, the first time I read about horses being used in the war, I just broke
down and cried. One more innocent victim, that we can not even talk to and
explain why things are happening to them. Can you even imagine the fear,
pain and horrid conditions they must be subjected to in the name of war. I
know it has been like that all though out history, but it does not mean that
I can except it. God bless not only the humans, but also all the innocent
animal souls that involved in this perpetuated human horror show. why is it
so hard for people not to be able to put this same kind of energy into
positive instead of negative. Think what the world could be like.
Maybe someday we will evolve to that level.
