A question for you auto mechanic sorts...
We have a 97 F250 HD w/ the Powerstroke. Have had it
since brand new. Love most everything about it except
the damn 4X4. In the last four years we've had it to
the dealer several times because either we've had
trouble getting it into or out of 4X4. Of course they
never ever can find anything wrong, so they can't fix
it!! Today when I was trying to haul my horse to ride
in this absolutely gorgeous weather, I got 1/2 mile
from home and it sounded like a plane was going to
land on my truck (at first I thought one was, then I
realized it was my truck!), so I unloaded and led my
horse home, thinking that my tranny was ready to blow
or something. Hubby (who is NOT mechanical) figured
out that the hubs were locked, for no apparent reason.
It wasn't in 4X4, the 4X4 light wasn't on, etc. He got
them to unlock but now I'm nervous to haul my horse
tomorrow because I have visions of the whole damn 4x4
locking up or falling off the bottom of my truck or
something. Has anyone dealt with this? Should I not be
driving/hauling until we get it figured out? We're
going to try the dealer AGAIN, but I'm afraid they'll
find nothing wrong, AGAIN.
Thanks in advance,
Kristi
