He is a great guy. I left Cornell and got into endurance (early '80's) and wrote him many long letters with questions. He patiently answered each one, and I managed to do many successful miles on his advice. Back then there was no public sources for nutrition in endurance horses. He was big on little facts like "A horse produces 57 pounds of manure a day" or " It takes four vet students to guess the actual wt of a horse (you have to average...)"
