Susan G recommended the Panacur purge for the ribby young ones that I posted about before (that are NOT in my care). My ex’s current wife is a vet tech and does her own fecal samples, but the colts still look a little ribbier and dull than they should. This is in a closed herd situation.
My two horses are in a public boarding stable pasture, so I worm them without taking fecals due to the open herd. This was strongly recommended by the local vet also.

Why would you worm the horse again if you are not sure if it is wormy or
not? I can take a stool sample to my vet and have results in 15 minutes for
$10 as to whether my horse is wormy or not then I don't have to worm her
when she doesn't need it. I have also heard of places you can mail it if
your vet doesn't provide this service.
Doesn't this work better? I'm a kinda newbie so I am seriously asking not
trying to be snide. This is just what I was taught to do.

Hi,
I have a friend that has a horse (TB) that looks wormy
to me - dull coat, extremely sluggish, a little thin.
She did not worm from April until late August, when
she used Zimecterin. I think the horse needs worming
again. She is worried that she does not want to give
too much too soon. I was trying to remember the
overdose rates for wormer and remember that Zimecterin
was 10x or something - Does anyone know?
Has anyone heard anything about a intranasal spray
wormer for horses? My friend says that she wants to
wait until the vet comes out and gives that. Does
anyone know what class of wormer that would be? I
think that she is not switching wormers and if this
nasal spray dewormer is also ivermectin that will not
help her horse as it will miss some types of worms.
