BITLESS BRIDLES

I am interested to know if any of you prefer bosal, hackamore or sidepulls
for longer distances.  I have never ridden in a bosal or sidepull and I
wonder if a horse would have difficulty eating or drinking in a bosal and
which of the bitless bridles work more effectlively.

My horse is very strong and some of you have been most helpful with
suggstions I plan on trying.  One of the suggestions was a bosal.  I have
borrowed one and I have an EQUUS magazine article which explains how to
fit and use.  Any tips?
