Re: Terrorism RC: 1276
Title: Signature
Don,
Yes, this is not really like cutting off the head
of a snake, hmm. Osama is only one of many who feel this hatred for
modernisation and difference of religion. They "occupy" or are hiding out
in coutries all over the world. They inspire fear in these peoples as
well. It sounds like the local peoples of these countries, esp Middle
East, are caught in a vise. And they move here to rebuild...and the
terrorists follow right behind. Thinking of the lady in the checkout
line.
We had to put people of Asian/Oriental decent into
holding camps at onset of WWII for two reasons; to keep other Americans
from assaulting them (hate crimes) and probably also a loyalty to U.S.
issue. I turn 40 next week, but my Momma talks a bit about this as my
grandfather served in the Navy on a destroyer as a signalman.
Sadly, I will not be at the Nationals next
month. Horses are great but my kennel business, which was rockin'and
rollin' hard for past 3 1/2 yrs. just took a nose dive.
Was able to buy 2 new endurance babies, buy 10 more
acres here in the forest , and get DeeDee and me into really good shape and
now....
Weeelll, I will think of you guys out
there!:)) Have fun, Ride Well. I will toast you all with a
Scotch!
Sincerely,
Beth and Clann Gunn

My post to Maria came back Beth. We didn't turn the bend
on our own, Bin Laden or whoever gave us the push. Just getting
Bin Laden is not enough. It went past talk when the Japs hit Pearl
Harbor. My dad volunteered the next day. Freedom is not free and
regrettably we must sacrifice in order to keep it. These guys want
nothing from us except our end. I have a nephew in an airborne outfit
that is now on high alert and I pray for him every night. I however am
100 % behind him and his possible mission to be. This is one of the few,
maybe the only, places on earth where persons of all different faiths can sit
together and talk sensibly.
I don't know how old and would not ask , you
are. I was drafted for Vietnam in the waning days but didn't get there as it
was winding down, but I believe this is a much better cause that that would
have me, if I was 18 again, volunteering. Hang in there. I'll be
at the National Ride next month. As a DBDR member I'll be working.
Taking it easy and spotting this time cause I know the trails pretty
well. Hope to see you there.

Don,
Unfortunately, a lot of people feel as Osama
bin Laden does. It has gotten to the point, turned the bend and no
turning back, where talk does not work. At least not with these
factions. He has been openly declaring war on the U.S. for years.
He and his followers want nothing less than to see Americans wiped off the
face of the earth. I don't see where responding with less is going to
save us. Wishing it weren't so is not going to change the way it
is...we can disagree and have different viewpoints on religion, economy,
government, culture, etc. but that shouldn't be answered with death and
destruction. Which is the only answer these terriorists factions seem
to have for us.

At least here we will catch and prosecute the low-lifes
that would do that. I personally take a very dim view of that when
or where it happens. I think that is a difference between us and
this Laden pig. Just because you don't have all the facts yourself
doesn't mean the Presidents boys don't. He is a known sponsor
and trainer of those murders so he is a good one to get anyway.
The world won't be any sadder if bin Laden is gone. Justice
will be served one way of the other. I getting tired of people
treating this issue as though it is a case in the US for murder where one
lowlife kills someone else. It is much more than that and requires
possible a bending of the rules, we just might have to assassinate someone
one day.
I was in a local business establishment a couple of days
ago and when checking out a lady of the Moslem religion came up behind me
to do the same. I turned and looked at her and she looked unsettled.
Both I and my wife smiled at her and her whole demeanor changed.
I wish more people would at least do that much. By the way
these same things happen to Japanese Americans at the on set of W.W.II and
they and we survived.
