Old Selam Ride

The decision to go ahead with Old Selam in spite of the awful events of the
last week was a good one.
There were lots of flags shown and some of the horses sported red white and
blue stars as well.
Rain Thursday made for a misty Sat morning start but all in all, the weather
was perfect.
We had a nice turnout, midtwenties on both distances with riders from
several states.  There were very few pulls.
The trails were very well marked, thanks to Carl and Sonny and Marilyn, who
spent the week in camp.  The footing is always good, there was lots of
water, with tanks wherever needed.
As always the pot luck was wonderful.
This old established ride is one to put on your list for next year.
