This is exactly how Daisy learned to go across
water. This past spring our pastures were flooded.
Went for a ride in the pasture and Daze did not want
to get her tootsies in the big puddles. I just walked
her up to the biggest puddle and let her eat the new
green shoots of grass. By the time Daisy realized she
had all four feet in the water she didn't care cuz the
tastest grass seemed to be in the middle of all that
water! Then at her first real creek I let her graze on
the bank and after she had eaten I just pushed her
with my legs and she casually walked through the creek
looking for more grass. Once on the other side I let
her eat some more before asking her to go on.
Funny thing is I never really planned to introduce
"crossing water" this way...it just kinda happened.
