Re: RE: Bloodlines
Hi All -
Dani (my QH mare) outweighs Bobby (my Arab gelding) on the scale 1391lbs. to
902 lbs. Her hoof prints fit well inside his prints. Every QH person who
sees her just goes ga-ga over her size, big butt, and baby doll head ("QH
speak" for Arab-type, but they don't like to actually say the word
"Arabian"). None of them has ever thought her feet were too small, I don't
think they even notice. I go to QH, Arab and Appy shows and I see verry few
chubby halter Arabs, but most all of the QHs are too overweight (they
"jiggle'), and travel very short-strided. Some actually look sore (and they
may even be).
When I was showing Bobby at halter years ago, I ponied him everywhere, and
did things like backing him uphill to give a nice muscling to his butt. He
was too young to ride.
