Re: chew-proofing railraod ties
Best solution would to have ties outside the fenced area
(assuming a fencline exists along ties) so horses can't get at
it. If that does not work, a hot-wire would. Could also
sheath ties in metal (time consuming and pricey, though).
Also, horses are less likely to crib if they have pleny of
forage to eat. Putting hay inside two (doubled) hay-nets slows
down eating, makes it last longer. I have also heard of people
using 'buster cubes' (orig. for dogs) with grain in them to
keep horses amused and out of trouble.
