Sneakers horse shoes  are a composite of a central aluminum plate with steel 
buttons on the front, leading edge enclosed in a durable plastic body. They 
are simple to nail on after drilling out the nail holes and usually last at 
least 2 settings at 7 week intervals. R.O.Grand Sultan ran in these on all 
4's over a few years. (If that name is new to you then you are a newbie) For 
the last 3 years I'm run at least 2 horses in sneakers and today 4 carry 
them. Especially good for a smoother ride on an upright horse and overall 
reduces concussion. Little pricey: $50/pair. If the farrier is the least bit 
curious and has average skills he/she  can fit Sneakers and tack them on.
