I shall come out from lurking on ridecamp . . . .
I have a chestnut Arab gelding coming 4 years old. He has 4 very high whites, and thus has 4 white feet. (Wow 444)
He has almost 1/2 inch hoof walls on all four feet, seriously I measured. His feet grow very fast too. 1/3 to 1/2 inch, seriously, can be trimmed
by my shoer every 4-6 weeks. He has really tough feet, with or without shoes. They are size 0. I think it has to do with breeding
and genetics. I feed Accel vitamins. The farrier loves to shoe him. Without shoes he grows his feet faster,
and with shoes a little slower, go figure. Shoes don't fall off, he just gets long.
He is 1/2 Aulrab/Aurab line bred, and the other is Egyptian.
I remember reading in a book written by a farrier, about hooves, and it mentioned the only difference between the two wast the
white feet showed any bruises more easily. Black hooves get bruises too, but you just can't see them.
I look for good feet on a horse. Arabs have a tendency to have good feet, but other breeds can and do too.

I shall go back into hiding now . . . . . . . :) Creep, creep, creep
