Sore back
Last Sunday we did a CTR and afterwards my horse's back was quite sore. Two
weeks before that we went camping and rode for five days. On the second night
my horse caught his back foot in his lead line which was attached to the
picket line. He struggled for a few minutes before I was able to get to him.
In struggling he managed to get the lead rope wedged between his foot and his
shoe. My friends and I were able to pry the shoe away from the hoof with a
screwdriver just enough to get the rope out. My horse seemed fine for the
rest of the trip. However, on the last day of riding, someone behind me
mentioned that it looked like my saddle's cantle seemed to be over to the
right a bit. At the time I didn't think much of it.
Anyway, now my horse's back is sore and I am wondering if maybe he pulled
something. I have called the chiropractor who said he would come out to
adjust him as soon as the soreness was gone.
In the meantime, I was wondering if anyone has any ideas about what I can do
to help my horse. I feel really bad that I rode him in the CTR when I
probably should have let him recoup. Thanks very much.
Lynette (and Chance--Oh boy, I get some time off.)
