acetone to remove EZ foam

Before I dive in with acetone to clean up the last remaining bits of foam on
my e-boots, any tips out there for handling the stuff?  I'm going to read
the label again, but I didn't see any info on disposing of the excess
acetone.  Will it just evaporate?  Gotta at least get the goo off the heel
straps so they are smooth again.
