Teresa, you are right on with this. People will spend 100's of dollars more
than they need to on colourful biothane, blankets, saddles,several expensive
and often unnecessary supplements and other esthetically pleasing items,
then pinch pennies on the electrolytes they use during the ride. With
inadequate electrolyte/hydration management, horses can and will suffer (and
some have died). This is the area to be educated, thoughtful, and careful;
not penny pinching. A good quality electrolyte is small insurance to pay to
reduce the risk of a huge vet bill or needing a new horse.
