In summer the heat is less of a problem for the shippers when they haul
horses at night. In areas of heavy population, read "stand still traffic
jams," it is also easier on the shippers and the horses to travel at night.
Some of them have 2 drivers, and so can cross the country much faster by
traveling day and night, which is again easier on the horses.
