RE: Footwear for people
I perfer riding in lace up boots. They have some diasadvantages in that there isn't much traction when you get off and walk with the horse. I have found that using a felt or gel liner in the boots, they actually stay warmer in winter and cooler in summer. The insulating effect is wonderful and they are cushy on your feet. Sounds impossible, but I discovered it when I forgot to take the liners out and realized I was using them in 90 - 100 degree weather.
Good luck!

I will be riding my first 50 miler(s)(?) this year and would like some suggestions for footwear that will 'take the heat' when riding and running. I already am using the stirrups with the 1/2 inch spongy padding and they are great.
Thanks in advance!!
Cori
