I only have to really fight sleep when it's late into a 100 and we're
having to walk for a length of time (usually due to the footing, etc.). 
So, usually I'll get off and walk (as long as in doing so, it doesn't slow
us down any more) or I'll start singing, etc.  It's also helpful to be
riding with someone, so you can rely on conversation to help keep you
awake.  Then, once it's possible, get back on your pace -- it's usually
easier to stay awake when traveling at higher rates of speed.
