Horse acclimation

There is a slim chance I may get to keep my horse and have him
transported to Houston with me on my new job:)  If any of you
want to say some prayers for me I could sure use them:) Anyway,
what my concern is the difference in climate and how that may 
affect my horse???  Can some of you give me some help on that? 
I am in Oregonm, wet, rainy and cooler climate and Cayenne has
lived here since 96.  Before that he was raised in Phoenix AZ.
Now the possibility of Houston, hot and humid??  What can you tell
me about precautions to take or maybe an experience you've had
acclimating your horse:)  Thank you again, Denise:)
