Yes, it's been much written about over the years. The famous photo --
most recently reprinted in the Arabian Horse World Millennium Guide --
shows Ronteza piled up on the ground, Sheila in perfect balance and the
cow taking off. A split-second later, Ronteza must have been up and
after that cow, barely breaking stride. The copy says: "1961: Ronteza
and Sheila Varian showed the world how a reining horse performs: the
first and only Arabian to win the $1,000 Reined Cow Horse Stake (open to
all breeds) at the Cow Palace." Ronteza was a daughter of *Witez II x Ronna.
