Hi All,
The best way to actually see and experiance the FEI and endurance is to go
and volunteer to crew for a friend or country . That way you will see all
that is to be seen on AERC rules and FEI together and be able to come to
your own conclusions. I did, it was a blast. We drove a long way at our own
expense to support a friend and ended up supporting the whole team USA and
the other riders in alot of ways, in a beautiful setting . The whole town
knew why we were there , and people were very happy to have our event as
Fort Riley had been host to previous FEI events before. And I learned so
much about the FEI and how they handle things. I saw alot of things I did
like, and some I did not. FEI is very formal. I think that is why so many
are not happy with it, as sports go, endurance is most unformal horse sport
in the FEI events. There are a lot of rules and formalities to follow in
FEI. It's not really that much different just bigger than our normal rides,
and if you want to learn or experiance it, go help out on an FEI ride. No
ride happens without volunteers, even the big ones.
