According to "the Horse" Magazine, Jan. 2000,  the average height for
each of these breeds is as follows:

Arabian 59.7 inches

Morgan 60 inches

Quarter Horse 59.3 inches (Shorter than the average Arab???)

Standardbred 63"

Thoroughbred 63.78

No "average" 16 hands horses.  I am surprised the Arabs were just under
15 hands.  I thought they'd average about 14.3 at best.  Wonder how they
decided on their test group.
