Small women and rearing babies

I thought having my little stud colt of 4 months gelded would settle him 
down.... I am just about at a loss of trying to get him to understand 
rearing is a no!!!! I have used the stallion squealing I have about beat 
him to death, I have used a crop, he just isn't afraid of me anymore... He 
was at once, but I don't know what has changed.  I never let him get away 
with anything, the slightest nip he is corrected.  I know I had lost of 
advice on the nipping, but now I need some help on this.  This little guy 
is not afraid of the devil himself...
