Subject: RC: RE: Re: age requirement for
multi-day rides?
I
believe that SUG is doing some research on this for us so we can recommend to
the BoD at the annual meeting. Correct me if I am wrong on
this.
Bob
This makes me think about the 4 year olds doing
5 day ld multidays. With this new trend to add ld's on all the same
days as the 50 mile multidays it concerns me that these young
horses would be worked this hard. Do you all really think that a
4 year old should go out day after day after day doing 25 or 30
milers? I think the age limit should be increased but
only for horses doing multi days. What do you all think is a
reasonable amount of competition miles for a 4 yr old in multiday
competition? Is a 2 day 50 alright? What about a 3 day 75 or a 4
day 100 miler? I think this is pushing a young horse too soon.
Just my $.02 worth!
